Assistant Ticketing Manager
Mount Baker Theatre is looking for 1-2 responsible, detail-oriented people for a position in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. A primary responsibility is to act as the Ticketing Manager in her absence, including acting as the Night of Show Manager. Other duties include: help supervise ticket sales and database upkeep, personally handle accurate data processing and tracking of memberships and donations, and other tasks to assist the Ticketing Manager. Applicants need to be computer-savvy fast learners with attention to detail who can multitask and problem solve while remaining professional and friendly in a sometimes-stressful environment. Must have customer service and money handling experience, as well as computer aptitude. Experience in ticketing and supervisory experience preferred, but not required. Position is an average 20 hours per week depending on customer demand and performance schedule (will increase at high-demand times such as season ticketing). PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Support the Ticketing Manager in the overall management of ticketing for all events at MBT.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Act as Ticketing Manager in the Ticketing Manager’s absence, including overseeing daily deposits and reports, handling customer concerns and issues, and supervising ticket staff.
* Act as primary Night of Show Manager, providing final ticket sales reports for an event when requested and ensuring the Night of Show checklist is completed.
* Train, manage, and offer input into the hiring of ticketing staff.
* Manage developed procedures to assure accurate records with appropriate checks and balances to prevent loss or theft of money and to assure all ticket sales are accounted for accurately.
* Produce various reports for administrative staff in the Ticketing Manager’s absence.
* Work closely with staff, the public, and, in the Ticketing Manager’s absence, with event promoters.
* Assist in developing highly-trained ticket sales staff to adequately handle both high and low volume days without overstaffing.
* Maintain a reputable and efficient computerized ticketing operation, including season and event ticket programming, membership entry, phone orders, ticket controls, cash and check handling, credit card processing, deposits and reports, and keeping records.
* Under the Ticketing Manager’s supervision, work with the Development Manager to maintain an efficient process for tracking and processing memberships/donations through the Ticket Office.
* Perform regular Ticketing Representative responsibilities (see job posting under Customer Service, or visit mountbakertheatre.com).
* Other duties as specified by the Deputy Director or Ticketing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: The Ticket Office is the first, and often the only, point of contact a customer has with the Theatre. As a primary public representative of the Theatre, the Assistant Ticketing Manager must maintain a positive and friendly image at all times. Experience in a ticketing operation preferred. Experience in handling monies and keeping correct records. Ability to use computerized systems. Ability to keep calm, productive, and pleasant in a job that requires attention to several different operations simultaneously, satisfying customers who are occasionally irate, assisting the House Manager in emergencies, tight deadlines, and working in a creative but sometimes chaotic atmosphere.
WORK SCHEDULE: As needed during normal operating hours M-F 9:30am until 6:00pm, Saturday 9:30-2:30, and event evenings/afternoons. One hour off for lunch, depending on total shift length. Average workweek is 20 hours, but certain times during the year may require up to 40 hours. Attendance is sometimes required at corporation meetings and significant public events at the Theatre and other hours as needed.
SUPERVISOR: Ticketing Manager, Mount Baker Theatre.
CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Permanent, Hourly (Non-Exempt). Starting pay $12.00.

Ticketing Representative
Mount Baker Theatre is looking for a few responsible people to help handle ticket sales, database upkeep, and other office tasks in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Applicants need to be computer-savvy fast learners with attention to detail who can multitask and problem solve while remaining professional and friendly in a sometimes-stressful environment. Must have customer service and money handling experience, as well as computer aptitude. Experience in ticketing preferred, but not required. PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Ticketing Manager, sell tickets for all events sold through MBT.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work in a reputable and efficient ticketing operation, including ticket ordering, ticket controls, membership/donation processing, cash and check handling, credit card processing, deposits and reports, and keeping records.
•Sell advance tickets according to procedures. Prepare reports and other documents with word processing software. Take telephone orders and process requests in order received. Process mail orders and either mail tickets or hold for "will call".
•Follow procedures for processing monies (cash, checks, credit card charges). Make daily deposits and secure change funds. Complete daily sales and income reports.
•Capture customer sales information for mailing lists.
•Refer customers to theatre user groups when appropriate. Inform customers about other events happening in the city and region when requested.
•Process internet sales in a timely manner.
•Inform other theatre employees and guests of messages and mail as soon as possible.
•Update message on telephone answering machine as required.
•Place appropriate posters and informational materials on the ticket office bulletin board and in the literature rack, and remove when outdated.
•Keep the ticket office and personal space clean and in order.
•Other duties as specified by the Ticketing Manager or Assistant Ticketing Manager.
