Overview

Just added: Singer/songwriter Kulshan Middle School eighth-grader Mikaela Seegers will provide the opening act.

Bellingham’s own The Cody Rivers Show presents "Right Back Where We Finished," its latest hour of explosive, unpredictable sketch comedy. The pair's unique and energetic performances - combining verbal fireworks with intense physicality - have won ecstatic critical praise from Victoria, BC, to Orlando, FL, earned them a birth at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, and this fall garnered a Stranger Genius Award. Their current offering marks the duo's 15th volume of new work in 5 years.

For decades, EVERY third grade student in the Bellingham School District has been provided with the opportunity to attend Conservation Camp at the Gordon Carter Conservation Site on Lake Whatcom. This one-day program provides hands-on experience of what it was like "back in the day" of a pioneer. Students chop wood, haul water, make candles, feed livestock, attend pioneer school, tend to a garden, and work as a team. Many third graders look back on this event as one of the best experiences they had as a student. Perhaps you, or your children, have participated in Conservation Camp in the past.

Unfortunately, due to budget restrictions, this valuable program was cut from the third grade curriculum. Parents have been working closely with the school district administration to come up with a way to continue this hands-on experience for all third grade students in the district. Approximate cost to provide this program is $35/student or $30,000 per year.

The Cody Rivers Show Benefit Fundraiser will help raise the necessary funds to provide this valuable program not only for this school year, but for years to come. The Bellingham School District parent associations are excited to be given the opportunity to continue a program that has served all third grade students for decades, is perfectly aligned with curriculum, and sends a message of family inter-dependence. Please help with this endeavor.

The parent associations would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Cody Rivers Show for providing this benefit performance and invite you to show your support for Conservation Camp, and the students in the Bellingham School District, by attending this event. Thank you - enjoy the show!
