Going green at the Olympics!
ScrapArtsMusic performed at the nightly medal ceremony at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver on February 14, just one month before their Mount Baker Theatre performance on March 31. The powerhouse percussionists were part of a stellar lineup of Canadian artists performing during the Victory Ceremonies, including Nelly Furtado and the Barenaked Ladies. Nelly Furtado will be the headliner at the Victory Ceremonies featuring ScrapArtsMusic.

Scrap Arts Music excites the senses with intricate rhythms, raw energy, athletic choreography and the greenest — and most inventive — reuse of materials on stage today. Fashioned from industrial scrap and offbeat materials ranging from accordion parts to artillery shells, Scrap Arts Music’s one-of-a-kind instruments are as visually striking as their music is sonically riveting. Audiences from four continents have welcomed this electrifying quintet with unbridled enthusiasm, embracing their intoxicating mix of music, movement and spectacle. Transcending language, culture and age, Scrap Arts Music offers a highly physical, wildly theatrical and thoroughly entertaining taste of the musical vanguard.

Rooted in street performance, jazz and world music traditions, and fueled by the same inexplicable genius that produced projects like Blue Man Group and Stomp, Scrap Arts Music was nominated in 2002 for a West Coast Music Award in the category of Best Live Performance and has been travelling the world ever since.

Additional Fees:

A $1-$2 per ticket handling fee for phone, in-person, fax or mail purchases is waived for MBT members. Tickets can be left at will call at no extra charge or mailed for an additional dollar ($1). All online purchases are subject to Tickets.com fees, which vary according to ticket price.

Wheelchair accessible seats are available through the Ticket Office. The Theatre is not equipped with elevators or escalators. Assisted listening devices or earplugs can be picked up at the complimentary coat check located inside the main doors. Ask an usher to obtain a booster cushion for small children. All services are subject to availability.

Refunds/Exchanges:

All sales are final. Please check your order thoroughly before making your purchase. MBT Members can exchange the value of their tickets for another MBT-presented show of equal value. Tickets must be returned to the Ticket Office before the show for an exchange.

Tickets can be donated back to the Theatre at least 24 hours before the show as a tax deductable contribution.
