Mt. Baker & Fidalgo Youth Symphonies Presents:

Hymn to Youth

These Youth Symphony concerts are a great way to involve young people in a culturally enriching, artistic experience! Both players and audience will enter into the rhythms and sonorities of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) and hear the music of Portugal’s most famous composer: Joly Braga Santos. He wrote several symphonies, film music, a cello concerto, and many more pieces, which are renowned for expressing and describing the unique colors of the land and seascapes of Portugal, as well as the sensibilities of the Portugese people.

Two sister symphonies (Mt. Baker in Whatcom County and Fidalgo in Skagit County) will combine on all levels to present works by Don Gillis, Mikhail Glinka (Night in Madrid), Braga Santos, and a set of choral selections sung by guest artist, the Squalicum Concert Choir!

Ticket prices are very reasonable for families and those young musicians hoping to join our symphonies. Bring family and friends to this unusual concert!
