Action Double Feature:

Hell’s Hinges

Starring William S. Hart

Hart is regarded in many ways as the architect of the movie western, one of the first filmmakers in the genre to strive for the kind of realism and intensity that paved the way for the likes of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.Hell’s Hinges is the quintessential Hart western, boasting plenty of action and a spectacular fiery climax.

The Americano

Starring Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.

One of the most popular actors of his time, Douglas Fairbanks made a name for himself in early romantic comedies before establishing himself as a superstar of big-budget, swashbuckling adventures. In this thrilling action film, Fairbanks is the suave Blaze Derringer, an American whose trip to Latin America goes awry when he arrives to find a coup in progress and the president imprisoned in a fortress. It’s up to Blaze to hatch a daring escape plan and rescue the president’s beautiful daughter from the clutches of a dictator.
