Discover:  Some art forms unite humanity across time * Human effort can achieve things that seem impossible at first * Concentration and practice grow mastery

THE PEKING ACROBATS’ ability to perform the astounding is rooted in centuries of Chinese history and folk art.  Records of acrobatic acts can be found as early as the Ch’in Dynasty (221 B.C. – 207 B.C.).  While we experience these feats as entertainment, acrobatics originated from people’s daily lives, drawing from their experiences in work, war, and sacrificial rites.  It was believed that practicing acrobatics could increase physical strength and accuracy of movements.

Chinese acrobatic tradition continues to grow stronger through continued innovation and enthusiasm from audiences.

Expect: Inspiring performances by elite athletes.  Visual communication. Exposure to cultural traditions.
