Mount Baker Theatre Presents

Spring Break Theatre Camp: Make a Silent Film at MBT!

With Guest artist Deanna Fleysher

When the lights go down at MBT, the spirits come out! Middle and High School students are invited to join Deanna Fleysher of the Bellingham Circus Guild for a weeklong workshop in the art of physical storytelling (melodrama, mime, and clowning) culminating in the creation of a short silent film based on our theatre’s resident ghosts. The end result, The Ghost Light, will be shown on our theatre’s big screen at 1:30 PM before Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus with Live Score by Dennis James on April 12!

MBT was originally built to showcase silent movies nearly 100 years ago, so we’re excited to offer young people the opportunity to learn about and recreate this unique art form in a welcoming and supportive environment.
