Chris Botti

Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti has been one of the most popular instrumentalists in the world for nearly three decades. Botti has performed on the world’s greatest stages, from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, and has  collaborated with a dazzling array of superstars, including Sting, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, and Yo-Yo Ma.

With multiple Gold and Platinum albums and a global following, Botti returns with Vol. 1, his first studio album in over a decade. Having successfully crossed over from jazz renown to pop stardom, Vol. 1 focuses on acoustic jazz and classic standards.

“I turned 60 in 2022, at a time that seemed like a restart,” says Botti. “I wanted to strip away all the orchestral arrangements and special guests and focus more on my playing, the playing of my band, and these jazz classics that we always love playing on stage.”

The album nods to  the jazz greats who have inspired him, from Miles Davis to Pat Metheny, with elegant, acoustic arrangements that evoke sophistication while remaining deeply expressive. Vol. 1 features a stellar group of collaborators, including classical violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Esteban Castro, legendary producer David Foster and more, yet it’s Botti’s clarion, heart wrenching trumpet that takes center stage.
