Kim Richey

From her critically acclaimed self-titled debut in 1995 to A Long Way Back: The Songs of Glimmer in 2020, Kim Richey has captivated listeners, garnered accolades, and attracted famous fans with her masterful songwriting and crystalline vocals.

Richey penned hit songs “Nobody Wins” for Radney Foster and the Grammy-nominated “Believe Me Baby (I Lied)” for Trisha Yearwood, along with songs recorded by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Loveless, and Brooks & Dunn, and more. Her voice has luminous harmonies that have enriched dozens of recordings, earning her a reputation as one of the genre’s most respected vocal collaborators.

Most recently Richey co-headlined a night of Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend Festival in Mexico, performing alongside powerhouse artists such as Carlile, Brandy Clark, Annie Lennox, Allison Russell, and Sarah McLachlan. She also appeared as a special guest at Jason Isbell’s annual Ryman Auditorium residency, returning to reprise her role in the anniversary performance of Southeastern. 

Now, Richey is back on tour with her 2024 album Every New Beginning, a richly textured album that showcases her full range of talents. Richey is a singular force in American songwriting, who can leap from melancholy to mirthful in a single couplet and whose voice is truly celestial.
