Best known for his hit truTV television series The Carbonaro Effect, Michael Carbonaro is now thrilling audiences with Carbonaro: Lies on Stage. Carbonaro has also made frequent television appearances in shows including Happily Divorced, 30 Rock, Grey’s Anatomy, and CSI Miami. He has been practicing magic since he was a kid and went on to study experimental theater at New York University with aspirations of entertaining through a variety of theatrical mediums including hidden-camera magic, which he showcased frequently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Following Carbonaro’s frequent late-night appearances, he launched his hit comedy series The Carbonaro Effect in 2014, which has run for over 100 episodes. In this series, Carbonaro performs tricks on unsuspecting members of the public. Jaws drop when he causes a car to disappear from under a security guard’s nose or makes alien crabs transform into kittens in a science lab. Whether posing as a coffee shop barista, museum curator, or seemingly unremarkable store clerk, Carbonaro’s illusions — along with his absurd, matter-of-fact explanations — leave people in the public bewildered.

In 2016 Carbonaro embarked on his first theater tour and in 2021 launched his current live show Carbonaro: Lies on Stage. Carbonaro showcases an unmatched blend of humor, charisma, and inventive illusions that amaze audiences of all ages.
