Opus Performing Arts Presents
Spring Showcase
Opus’ Spring Showcase highlights the instructional aspect of the school from our youngest students of three years old to our intermediate/advanced high school students performing ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz, and contemporary ballet. This year, Opus’ Spring Showcase will include an excerpt from the classical ballet, Swan Lake; originally choreographed in 1877, it is one of the world’s most famous ballets. In addition, the performance will feature and celebrate two of Opus’ graduating seniors Emery Ewing and Jina Thompson performing Marius Petipa’s classical variations from the historic ballets The Sleeping Beauty (1890) and Raymonda (1898). Opus’ Spring Showcase includes new works by Artistic Director Brooke Evans and faculty members Amalie Barton, Damian Cade, Elizabeth Graham, Celeste Hartsook, Bailey McCully, Kaitlin Nelson, Tilie O’Neil, and Diane Williams, with costumes by Marie Christenson.
With a variety of all classes performing, you will get a taste of students’ experiences throughout the year, what the dancers have learned together, progress they’ve made, and the goals they are reaching for as they refine and hone their skills. Performances of Opus’ Spring Showcase are appropriate for all ages.
