About Jerry Harrison
Jerry Harrison’s creative path was shaped early by a family immersed in the arts — his mother and grandmother were painters, and his father performed in jazz groups to pay his way through college. Harrison began playing the piano and saxophone in elementary school and continued playing music while attending Harvard. A chance meeting with Jonathan Richmen led to Harrison joining The Modern Lovers, whose influential 1976 debut became a foundational album for the punk and new wave movements. It also caught the ear of Talking Heads members Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and David Byrne.
In 1977, after a few experimental shows with the group, Harrison officially joined Talking Heads. As the band evolved and individual members pursued side projects, Harrison expanded into producing and released three solo albums. His produced credits span an impressive range of artists, including Crash Test Dummies, Live, The Violent Femmes, Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Fine Young Cannibals, and more.
