Frequently Asked Security Questions
How does MBT approach event security?
The safety and comfort of our patrons is Mount Baker Theatre’s top priority. Dedicated security personnel are present at every public event to ensure that this standard is maintained. These staff members are trained to perform their duties in the most efficient, customer-friendly manner possible.
Will I have to go through a security check before attending an event?
Yes, patrons should expect to have their bags and person checked, and may be asked to walk through a security sensor system*. These measures are in place to enforce our strict no weapons policy and to prevent other prohibited items from entering the building. Please note that Washington State Liquor Control Board regulations prevent us from allowing outside beverages into our theatre, and that outside food is also prohibited. You’ll be required to return any unwelcome items to your vehicle or your home before entering the building. In some cases, non-alcoholic beverages or small food items can be stored for pick-up after the performance.
What can I do to make the security check process quicker and easier?
Simply put, bring only what you need! Leave bags at home or in your vehicle if possible. Using a clear handbag can also speed up your security check. We strongly encourage you to read our Patron Code of Conduct before attending an event to view a list of prohibited items and to familiarize yourself with general theatre policies.
